It’s odd that in an age of inclusiveness and so called “global understanding”, the creators of The Simpsons have been pressured to removed the Apu character from the long running series. Keep in mind, Apu is a loving husband, business owner and father of 8 that just so happens to be from India. Unfortunately, some people have deemed the character offensive and so the writers have started to exclude the lovable businessman out of future episodes. The Simpsons is the longest running, animated TV series and is currently on its 30th season.
In other cartoon news, we could be getting a Star Trek Animated series thank to Rick and Morty. One of the writers of the raunchy Sci-Fi series has been given the green light to start on “Star Trek-Support Crew”. A show about the people in the lower decks of a “not as important ship” in the Federation. This series is going to be a lot more comedic compared to the rest of the Star Trek Lore.
