If you have ever wondered why certain Marvel heroes haven’t faced off against each other yet, like Wolverine and Ironman or Magneto and Vision, it’s due to ownership of assets. Yes, Marvel has overall claim on the characters. It’s the separate studios that have permission to use selections of the roster. Fox and Disney have ownership over different parts, hence it was a bit of a big deal to have Spiderman show up along side the Avengers. Well, talks are starting up again to see if Disney can buy the assets away from Fox. Could we see Deadpool give Thanos a wet-willy?
The Disaster Artist has hit the theaters and the critics and fans are loving it. Now usually when you hear about Seth Rogen and James Franco in a movie together, it consistently brings images of a funny, dumb, drug fueled romp. This movie, on the other hand, is about the creation of a different movie, “The Room” and the critical failure it was. The Disaster Artist is cringey brilliant.
I have to admit, with all the back and forth about the quality of Justice League movie, this news is a refreshing surprise. A WB / DC Comics, Japanese film featuring Batman, Joker, Catwoman, Harley Quinn and many others set in Fuedal Japan. This animated movie looks stunning and tells a, off the beaten path, story featuring the caped crusader. The trailer has been released to Youtube and the DVD / Blu-ray will be released early next year.
