The man who hosted “The Price is Right” for 35 years is furious the show is giving away a five-day trip to Calgary to mark the event's 100th anniversary. Bob Barker says he would never have consented to that happening -- but he doesn't blame current host Drew Carey.

David Letterman commemorated his 30th anniversary as a late-night host last night. In his monologue, he joked about why he continues to stay in the T-V business.

Last night's edition of "American Idol'' featured auditions in Portland, Oregon for the first time. Fast food worker David Weed thought he'd earn a ticket to Hollywood with his take on the Rush song "Tom Sawyer." "Idol" judge Randy Jackson asked if he heard Rush lead singer -- Geddy Lee -- in his head.

Next stop on the “American Idol'' auditions tour: Idol's first time in Portland, Oregon.

Here's another example of how "American Idol'' isn't as hot as it used to be. "The Big Bang Theory'' beat "Idol" in the ratings during the half hour they went on head-to-head last week. It's the first time a scripted series has ever beat "Idol."

Tonight marks David Letterman's 30th anniversary as a late-night host. His scheduled guests include shock jock Howard Stern.

Michelle Obama appeared on "The Tonight Show'' with Jay Leno on last night to promote her "Let's Move!'' campaign. She said she hasn't been watching the Republican debates.

Entertainment News Update: Thursday January 26th

Last night's edition of ``American Idol'' featured auditions in Aspen, Colorado. The judges were unsure if outlandish contestant Magic Cyclops was for real but decided his performance of Neil Diamond's ``Cracklin' Rosie'' was really bad. Magic was dressed in hippie-rocker gear and spoke with an affected English accent, hiding behind large sunglasses. He did not advance -- and Randy Jackson was in disbelief over what he had witnessed.

It was Dick Tufeld (TOO'-fehld) speaking. Tufeld was a radio and T-V announcer. He died Sunday at 85.

Entertainment News Update: Wednesday January 25th

After 11 and a half seasons, original C-S-I cast member Marg Helgenberger will make her final regular appearance tonight. Helgenberger, who plays Detective Catherine Willows, says her run on the show has been remarkable.

Kiefer Sutherland returns to T-V tonight on FOX. His new show "Touch'' has him saving the world, but it's not like "24.'' He say's he's thrilled to be back on the small screen.

Entertainment News Update: Tuesday January 24th

"Hugo'' leads the nominations for the 84th Academy Awards. The Martin Scorsese-directed film received 11 nods, including Best Picture.

"Moneyball'' has received six nominations. Among its nominations: Best Picture and a Best Actor nod for Brad Pitt, who co-produced the film. Pitt tells N-B-C's "Today'' show it's amazing to receive the nominations.

Two animated films by Canadian filmmakers are in the running for Academy Awards. Montrealer Patrick Doyon's short film "Sunday" is one of two Canadian productions to nab a nomination for best animated short film. Doyon was pretty excited when he found out about the nomination.
