No one expected a movie about icons and images used during text messages, let alone that same movie to do well. Surprise, it didn’t do well. Opening a weekend that places it against the war film “Dunkirk”, The Emoji Movie has been slammed by audiences and critics across the board. Calling the flick “full of cheap pops, empty of any substance, soulless and idiotic”. Look for it in the discount bin soon.
Ten years ago the Simpsons did something completely different, they were featured in a movie. Now going into their 29th season, there is talk of a Simpsons Movie sequel. According to the director of the first movie, David Silverman, a big reason a second movie is taking so long is due to the hectic schedule of the still very active and popular TV show. There is a hint that a possible plotline for the film is “Simpsons in Space”.
